Message from the Board

Do you know why Koinonia is open every day of the week? Do you know why Missouri Southern students stream in and out of the campus house for Bible studies, meals, meetings, hanging out, counseling, and general downtime? Do you know why they worship, study, eat, gather, and play here?

It's because people like you--alumni, parents, and friends--give to this ministry.

It feels like a cliché, but there is solid truth in the idea that every dollar matters. Yes, some give thousands of dollars a year, even tens of thousands. But many give $10 a month, faithfully, every single month, to be sure our doors stay open for students of all backgrounds and all stages of faith. As chairman of the board of directors, I regularly examine the income and expenses of this ministry, and I say again, every dollar matters.

Your giving keeps our building and student housing air conditioned and (reasonably) comfortable when tons of students pack in for Thursday night Bible Study. Your giving pays an intern's salaries as they stays up past midnight, talking with a student experiencing a crisis of faith. It buys the comfortable, clean couches they're sitting on as they talk. You've helped provide paper for small group notes that will be written today and taken out and re-read years from now.

We are grateful for every dollar, and we watch every one, careful to be wise and frugal with our spending. Please David Weaver at davidweavermssu@gmail.com today to begin giving financially to Koinonia. If you have questions, don't hesitate to contact him or me.

How to Give to Koinonia

Thanks for your interest in donating to Koinonia! We are fully funded by donations and we are a 501 c (3) non-profit organization, so all of your gifts are tax deductible! Each gift goes towards impacting a student's life for Jesus Christ.

Please contact David Weaver with any questions concerning giving at davidweavermssu@gmail.com.

Our greatest need is monthly operational giving. Our operational budget funds all of the free meals, programs, events, staffing, campus, and everything else needed to fulfill our mission.

One–Time Gifts and Gifts-In-Kind are also needed to help Koinonia reach out to students. Please see below some various current one time needs or contact Neal with any additional needs.

Stock Gifts are also accepted and sold immediately after the transfer is made. By selling the stocks it allows the donor to donate the amount they intended to and will go directly to the ministry for use. Koinonia has an account with Edward Jones set up to receive stock donations.

To give to Koinonia we have various methods of payment: auto draft, easy Tithe, and checks.

easy Tithe - Link coming soon.

Checks - Checks should be made payable to “Koinonia” with the budget/cause indicated in the memo line.
Please send all checks to:

Current Needs

Free Dinner at Thursday Nights
Every Thursday night during the semester, Koinonia offers its students Free Dinner  Free Dinner begins at 6:30 pm with close to 60students. If you would like to sponsor a meal, contact David to see what dates are available. There is always a need! Your group can bring food that is already prepared (lasagna, barbeque, sub sandwiches, etc.) or use our  kitchen to cook dinner here at the campus house. Student favorites include lasagna, breakfast foods, fried chicken, and taco salad. You can sponsor a Free Dinner by either providing food or providing a donation of $200.00.

Help with our Spring Break Service Trip  We Many of our students need financial help to be able to go on our spring break service trip ($320)  Your gift may make the difference between students being able to go or having to stay home because they can't afford it.

Sponsor a Student
We have four retreats a year. Retreats are where life change really happens. It is an opportunity for students to get away from campus and hear solid wisdom and truth. Students have free time to have fun and build community. There is even time for prayer and worship. Many times there are faith commitments made, baptisms and rejoicing! It is a truly a refreshing time! Students retreats vary from $35-$65.

Adopt-A-Van
Koinonia need vans to transport our students on their spring break trip.. We rent two or three fifteen passenger vans at a cost of $1,200 each for the 10 days, to ensure safe travel for our staff and students. Koinonia subsidizes the cost of the vans to make the retreats affordable to students, so this is a definite need in order to make these trips feasible. If you or a group would like to Adopt a Van you can give towards a van for $1,200, a bench for $225.00, or a seat for $80.00.
